Our first negative comment posted today

So how does one respond to their first negative comment?

Don’t get

Doest attract kids because no pictures and voice kind of wierd

Even if we could directly respond (which we can’t), should we? I believe that criticism is a good thing, it means that someone cared enough to let us know what they thought. Be it good or bad. I have thick skin, If someone thinks my voice is kinda weird, so be it. As for the app having pictures?? Not sure I follow that one, its an ABC Matching and Memory game, not a Picture matching/memory game. So this piece of the comment leaves me a bit puzzled.  I wish the forum that apple provided was not one way. It would be nice to be able to ask some additional questions of crazymama3 and find out what improvements she would suggest that would make the Meghan’s ABC123 an app she would provide a 5 star “Have to have” endorsement. So, a brief note to crazymama3, if you read this post, please take the time to use our Contact Us form and give us some more detail to work with.

RatCat Software is Advertising on FaceBook

Meghan's ABC123 on Facebook!Today I started a new chapter in RatCat Software’s brief story. I began advertising our apps on Facebook.

Setting it up was really simple, from my own facebook profile page, I selected “Create an Ad” found in the upper right hand corner above the ads, then I filled out a few web forms to fill out, added credit card information and off we are.

I choose a simple plan of $2 per day, and it estimated the ad might land about 4 clicks to our site and anywhere from 4K to 8K of ad impressions per day. Now the question will be… Do the clicks = buys? This is something I will monitor over the next month or two and see if I can attribute sales growth to clicks.

In addition to adding the facebook advertising, we also established a RatCat Software Facebook Fan Page to give our customers a chance to build community with our organization.

Introducing Meghan’s ABC123

Meghan's ABC123Having noticed sales trends to be way in favor of our Preschool, Kindergarten and First Grade editions of Meghan’s Memory game we decided to focus our efforts on the development of a application geared toward the Toddler. This new game, simply titled Meghan’s ABC123 takes our game platform to a new heights offering three levels of increasing game play and a new learning mode designed like an interactive blackboard to help the little ones learn their ABC’s and their 123′s. Meghan’s ABC123 is now in final testing and early results have been very positive with two of the four testers having already given the two thumbs up. Will it be our next top 100 iPhone app? Who knows, but what we do know is that we are learning more each day about building an independent software company (or INDIE as it is know in the industry) geared to iPhone development that you just can’t read in a book or on a blog.
